In your experience, how many blog posts do I need to write to really get traction with Google? Â Is it 3 per week, or maybe two, more, what is the sweet spot, do you think, with my kind of blog? Â Many thanks.

There is no 'sweet spot' The Google algorithm does favor sites that are updated regularly with new content but don't fall into the trap of thinking that more is better. One quality post a month will give you far more traction than ten posts nobody wants to read because they're thrown together and don't provide any value.
My advice is to set your own schedule based on how much time you have. The main thing is to post regularly (even if that's only once a month) with quality content.
